DSM winnaar Kristalprijs 2011

DSM is de winnaar van De Kristal, de prijs voor het beste MVO-jaarverslag van Nederland. DSM krijgt de prijs omdat zij in het jaarverslag het meest duidelijk de balans tussen people, planet en profit laat terugkomen. DSM toont de maatschappelijke betrokkenheid in de strategische visie en laat op concrete wijze de keuze voor mens en maatschappij zien. In het jaarverslag stelt DSM zich kwetsbaar op door ook zaken te vermelden die zijn misgegaan. De Kristal is de hoofdprijs van de al langer bestaande Transparantiebenchmark. NEWSWEEK heeft de grootste ondernemingen geranked op het gebied van milieu. Munich Re, IBM en Australian Bank vormen in deze editie de top 3. In de ranking van vorig jaar stonden drie Nederlandse ondernemingen op in de top 100 van de lijst (ING op 15, Unilever op 65 en Shell op 88). Nu staat Philips hoog genoteerd op plaats 9. Carbon Disclosure Project Global 500 report: published

The 2011 edition of the annual Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) Global 500[1] report, published today, which examines carbon reduction activities at the world’s largest public corporations, has found for the first time in the ten year history of the survey, that the majority have climate change actions embedded as part of their business strategy. Milieudefensie: Shell opnieuw niet in Dow Jones Sustainability Index

Shell staat opnieuw niet in de vandaag uitgekomen ranking van duurzame bedrijven door de Dow Jones. Vorig jaar werd de oliegigant uit de index verwijderd vanwege grootschalige olievervuiling in Nigeria. Geert Ritsema van Milieudefensie: “Het is geen verrassing dat Shell opnieuw niet in de in de duurzaamheidsindex staat, vorige maand rapporteerde VN-milieubureau UNEP nog dat Shell zich bij de oliewinning niet aan de Nigeriaanse wet en internationale milieu-eisen houdt en dat het bedrijf gelekte olie onvoldoende opruimt.” ... lees meer
