Amsterdam is Credit Europe Bank’s global headquarters and is the center from where trade and commodity finance, project finance, marine finance and banking relations are offered to customers all over the world. Next to our HQ in the Netherlands, we have offices in Germany, Malta, Switzerland, , Romania and Turkey. We have around 230 employees in NL.

Sustainability Officer

This role drives sustainability initiatives of the bank within a role overarching between first and second lines of defense.

Key Responsibilities

• Development/implementation of a corporate sustainability strategy and a sustainability roadmap and drive sustainability initiatives;
• Contributes to the development of the bank’s sustainability policies (including sector-specific policies) and ESG-related scorecards and assessment frameworks for ESG risk factors in general;
• Ensures that the bank’s ESG assessment framework is in full compliance with applicable rules and regulations and is aligned with the bank’s risk appetite, loan underwriting principles, and business strategy;
• Collaborates closely with risk management functions, underwriting departments, and business units to ensure proper ESG assessment during loan origination and monitoring;
• Coordinates sustainability/ESG risk-related committee meetings, keeps the committee charter up to date, and follows up on meeting minutes and action items;
• Provides sustainability training to internal stakeholders and takes the initiative to raise organizational awareness;
• Responsible for sustainability reporting;
• Ensure compliance with applicable rules and regulations in the area of sustainability and keep track of international and industry best practice standards and principles, as well as regulatory updates in ESG policies;
• You are reporting directly to CRO.
