What will be your role:

The sustainability manager has the responsibility to define and implement the Apollo Europe sustainability road map. This role steer Apollo Europe sustainability efforts/initiatives by ensuring environmental, social, and economic responsibilities that will curb carbon emissions, ensure social responsibility, and favour green sustainable solutions/investments to comply with the regulatory requirements.

Location: Amsterdam or Gyongyoshalasz
The position will be based in either Amsterdam, Netherlands or Gyongyoshalasz, Hungary as part of the Manufacturing and Industrial Engineering department, reporting directly to the head of the department.

Tasks

• Recommend and implement sustainable strategies, framework and practices across Europe aligned with the Global Sustainability goals to ensure environmental, social, and economic responsibilities are met.
• Implement an integrated approach across the business functions to achieve sustainable growth in line with Apollo’s Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) strategy.
• Develop the reporting of Scope 1, 2 and 3 GHG emissions as well as the company’s emissions reduction target, with continued improvement plan
• Collaborate with the senior management and executive team to integrate sustainability into overall business strategy and operations.
• Manage external consultants on projects related to ESG or sustainable product design as well
• Work with internal teams focused on energy conservation initiatives, greener products and other ESG initiatives
• Benchmark on best practices, emerging trends, and risks related to sustainability and present to Global function to align all activities.
• Implement a sustainability communication strategy to promote awareness and engagement within the organisation and with external stakeholders.
• Ensure data collection and compilation for ESG reporting and assurance.
• Coordinate sustainable supply chain, CSR, D&I initiatives and projects as and when needed aligned with global Sustainability.
• Identify and coordinate ESG awards and recognition applications.
