Sustainability (ESG) Internship

Royal Smit & Zoon is an internationally operating family business in the leather industry with an ambitious mission: To create a socially and environmentally sustainable leather value chain, together. This means we continue to innovate to make a positive impact on the environment and society. As we are committed to continuous improvement, we are looking for an intern who is passionate about sustainability and wants to make a difference. During your internship, you will support the ESG Director in updating our ESG policies and implementing our ESG goals. You will also help identify opportunities for improvements in our sustainability journey and assist with ESG reporting.

What you will do

As an ESG Intern, you will be involved in the following activities:

• You assist in updating our ESG policies;
• You develop a Supplier Sustainability Scorecard to assess the sustainability performance of our suppliers and identify opportunities for improvement;
• You analyse and document whether our Sales Partners are properly implementing our ESG policies;
• You support ESG reporting, in line with and in preparation for the requirements of the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD).
