Internship Sustainability

The Corporate Sustainability Programme is an integral part of the Corporate Affairs department at Van Oord. It plays a pivotal role in overseeing the implementation of Van Oord’s sustainability vision and strategy. As a small yet ambitious team, we tackle various sustainability topics through a multi-disciplinary approach.

We are seeking a highly motivated individual with a background in business or policies and a genuine passion for sustainability. For this position you should be structured, possess excellent stakeholder management skills, and demonstrate a creative and strategic mindset.

As an intern in the Corporate Sustainability Team, you will actively contribute to our Programme Projects, with a particular focus on the preparations of our sustainability week and our road to COP29 in Baku. Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting content and structure for Festival at S.E.A. (Our Sustainability week at Van Oord) ensuring that each event aligns with our objectives as a Sustainability Programme
• Building a comprehensive strategy for Van Oord’s involvement in COP29; this involves researching themes, prepare briefings and identifying key opportunities for Van Oord to showcase our work and effort on sustainability;
• Engaging with key internal stakeholders to ensure alignment and commitment to sustainability initiatives;
• Interacting with external stakeholders to foster collaboration and enhance our sustainability efforts;
• Planning and preparing presentations and roadmaps to communicate our sustainability vision effectively.

This internship opportunity will be based at our headquarters in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. The duration of the internship is expected to be 4-6 months.
