Lecturer in Ethics and Sustainable Business

As a Lecturer (1.0 FTE) at Breda University of Applied Sciences (BUas) you are passionate about ethics and sustainability and would like to share this passion with the next generation. You will teach, supervise and develop course materials to ensure students are challenged to develop their own vision and reasoning. You will be working in an intercultural and international environment, on our green sustainable campus near the city centre of Breda.

As a Lecturer in Ethics and Sustainable Business (1.0 FTE) at Breda University of Applied Sciences (BUas), you will be involved in both education and research projects to help shape future developments within the Academy for Hotel & Facility (AHF). You bring deep expertise in ethics and experience design, with the ability to translate values into stakeholder experiences that drive positive change. You possess a strong vision on sustainability, understanding its interconnections with industry, society, and personal behaviour. You do not see ethics and sustainability as separate domains but as integrated practices that require both systemic insight and experiential engagement. The latter is a crucial element of this course and students are challenged, also through assignments and presentations, to not only develop and widen their vocabulary with respect to ethics and sustainable development, but they are also urged to develop their own vision and reasoning with respect to specific cases and choices related to the challenge of striving for sustainable development.

You have expert knowledge in your field and you know how to actively contribute this to applied research. You are willing to represent the academy in national and international networks and at conferences. You will provide lectures in English and – based on your expertise – you will supervise and coach students in project groups, during work placements and graduation projects. You will develop teaching materials and make an active contribution to the development of the Hospitality and Facility Management curriculum.
