The Sustainability & Environmental Permitting Specialist supports the Sustainability Director and works closely with local sites. The role focuses on managing environmental permitting processes under Dutch legislation, coordinating quarry restoration and land rehabilitation activities, and ensuring compliance with national and regional environmental regulations.

The position involves close cooperation with local authorities, regulators, and stakeholders, as well as the proactive implementation of sustainability initiatives across operations.

The tasks of the position include

· Support, coordinate, and monitor environmental permitting and compliance processes in accordance with Dutch legislation, including:

o Environmental Management Act (Wet milieubeheer)

o Environmental Licensing (Omgevingsvergunning)

o Environment and Planning Act (Omgevingswet)

o Nature Conservation Act (Wet natuurbescherming)

o Water Act (Waterwet) and coordination with Water Authorities (Waterschappen)

· Actively follow-up local developments that could influence the business continuity.

· Coordinate quarry restoration projects.

· Contribute to the administration and management of land, permits, and operational assets.

· Implement corporate sustainability policies, standards, and strategies at site and regional level.

· Engage proactively with municipalities, provinces, environmental authorities, NGOs, landowners, and local communities.

· Support initiatives aimed at improving Sibelco’s environmental performance and public perception.

· Contribute to global sustainability programs, KPIs, and reporting requirements in collaboration with the global Sustainability Team.
