This is a key leadership role for an experienced professional who thrives at the intersection of sustainability, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence.

The Opportunity

As the Sustainability Leader – Biofuels, you will oversee a team of Sustainability Analysts supporting operations across multiple European markets. You’ll play a vital role in ensuring regulatory compliance, certification integrity, audit readiness, and robust sustainability reporting across the organisation’s renewable fuels activities.

This is a hands-on leadership position where you will shape processes, develop your team, and work closely with trading, operations, finance, and legal stakeholders to maintain full traceability and compliance within a rapidly evolving sector.

What You’ll Lead & Deliver

Team Leadership

• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing Sustainability Assurance team.
• Ensure strong daily operations, knowledge sharing, and continuous learning.
• Provide hands-on technical guidance on sustainability documentation, mass balancing, and audit preparation.
• Foster a culture of accountability, growth, and cross-functional collaboration.

Operational & Regulatory Excellence

• Oversee daily sustainability operations, ensuring complete accuracy and traceability under ISCC-EU, RED III, and national schemes.
• Guarantee timely regulatory and contractual submissions across multiple European countries.
• Manage internal controls, audit readiness, and compliance with emerging EU regulations (including RED/ETS2).
• Support internal stakeholders with scenario planning, reporting, and compliance insights.

Subject Matter Expertise & Advisory

• Apply deep expertise in biofuels sustainability, certification systems, and regulatory frameworks.
• Act as a key advisor for operational decisions and compliance challenges.
• Work closely with trading, operations, finance, and legal teams to maintain full end-to-end traceability.
• Drive continuous improvement across sustainability systems, processes, and the assurance framework.
