About Profundo

Profundo is an independent research non-profit, based in the Netherlands, which provides action-orientated research, advice and capacity building for civil society and public organisations. The Supervisory Board oversees the organisation’s strategy, governance and financial health, and advises the Board of Directors.

The role

We are looking for a Supervisory Board member with a strong financial background to support the Board on financial matters. You will help ensure sound financial oversight and contribute to the strategic direction of the organisation.

Responsibilities

• Review and advise on the annual budget, annual accounts and financial reporting
• Monitor financial performance, risk management and internal controls
• Act as a sounding board for the Board of Directors on financial and strategic questions
• Contribute to Supervisory Board decision-making and good governance

Time commitment

The Supervisory Board meets four times a year. Members are expected to attend these meetings in person in Amsterdam and to prepare for them in advance, with occasional additional consultation as needed.

Terms

Appointment is for a fixed 4-year term, with the possibility of reappointment for a maximum of 8 years in total. The role is voluntary, but reasonable expenses are covered.
