Job Summary

The Sustainability Project Manager will be responsible for the execution of the Sustainability development projects and work with international external and internal stakeholders to set and confirm science-based medium and long-term environmental targets.
You will be responsible for setting up a program of work to improve the environmental performance of our manufacturing sites and work with various disciplines like Site Leadership, Finance, Procurement, HSE and Facilities to execute a number of projects to reduce our emissions, water and waste. Specifically, you will work with the relevant stakeholder to ensure that eleven of our factories will switch over to renewable electricity and three of our site will divert their waste to landfill, all by the end of 2024. You will also be the focal point for external stakeholders in a project to generate and verify scope 1, 2 and 3 emission data that allows us to set and confirm medium and long-term science based targets. You will be supporting the establishment of these metrics, while ensuring compliance to accurate definitions and standards and overseeing accounting operations when applicable. You will report to the Global Director of Sustainability and based in any of the countries where GKN Aerospace has a Manufacturing site.

Job Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities
•    Establish a Project Charter with relevant stakeholders, including a plan and RACI for the implementation phase of the renewables and waste projects.
•    Compile and manage a work breakdown structure (WBS), organization breakdown structure (OBS) for execution of the renewables and waste projects
•    Ensure the execution of the established environmental projects within scope, budget and time. Control and monitor on progress, scope and resources for the process.
•    Support and coordinate the activities for setting up an effective emission data reporting and accounting architecture for our scope 3 emissions.
•    Coordinate between internal and external stakeholders (consultants, suppliers & customers) in the delivery of science based environmental targets by the end of 2024.
•    Deliver analysis to the Director of Sustainability, disciplines and sites regarding risks and opportunities of sustainability performance and programs
•    Assist the Director of Sustainability with preparing quarterly sustainability reports by contributing to KPl’s and accounting insight, analysis, and recommendations.

Other activities:
•    Prepare and assist in driving Sustainability activities across the business
•    Assist in the set up and definition of internal sustainability targets, improvement program and activities in line with the global sustainability strategy
•    Assist the business in developing Sustainability analysis and (customer) statements
