Role description:
As Integrated Reporting & Rating Specialist to the Global Sustainability team, you will be responsible for coordinating, managing, and improving Arcadis’ ESG reporting and communications to (external) stakeholders (rating agencies), as well as ensure the learnings therein fold into a continuous improvement plan for the business. The candidate must be familiar with Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) requirements and having experience in responding to rating agencies’ requirements is a plus.
Reports to the Governance & Disclosure Program Director.
Role accountabilities:
The Global Sustainability IR & Rating Specialist will lead the rating agency cycle (prepare, respond, review, improve) and engage with relevant stakeholders both internal and external to Arcadis. More specifically the tasks and responsibilities will include:
- High-quality, timely responses to external stakeholders including rating agencies on ESG data
- Drive continuous improvement by engaging internal global functions around learnings from ratings
- Support in the creation of talks, presentations, etc. for public engagements.
- Coordination, project & relationship management of rating agency assessments (Sustainalytics, CDP, EcoVadis, MSCI, ISS, S&P CSA), as well as (emerging) NZ benchmarking organizations).
- Identify strategic sustainable opportunities and improvement programs, survey (industry and beyond) stakeholders, and advice on ESG in business operations and global policy development (incl. for instance Risk, Procurement, Workplace, and Diversity).
- Support in defining and setting sustainability targets, quantifying strategy (NFR, SBTs, sustainability-linked remuneration, etc.) for senior management,t and in other areas where target-setting supports our strategic agenda.
- Advise and improve global ESG monitoring & reporting: Non-Financial Reporting (NFR), Annual Integrated Report (AIR), and quarterly communications.
- Support, as required, relevant non-financial reporting work and/or topics such as CSRD, CSD, DD, and others.
- Lead technical projects from inception to completion, ensuring all objectives are met within the specified timeline.
- Stay current with industry trends, requirements, and emerging technologies, evaluating their potential impact on our strategies.
- Mentor and train junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
- Provide specialized technical expertise and guidance to team members, supporting them in overcoming technical challenges.
- Benchmark against current best practices and communicate the areas and levers of influence.
- Collaborate with other Global Sustainability program managers and team members to support Global Sustainability team objectives outside of the program you are in, which may include contributing to various training initiatives, aligning and supporting net zero data validation supporting requirements for measuring sustainability on projects, among other activities.
- Proactively manage changes in program scope and schedule, proposing alternatives and reporting to the Global Sustainability PMO and other stakeholders.
- Ad-hoc support on bids with sustainability responses to client requests might be required.

- Motivate, inspire, and help drive team results, reviewing performance and providing timely feedback to team members and counterparts.
- Support preparation of regular reports and updates on program status for management and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with global (technical) discipline leads and regional counterparts as needed to achieve program objectives.
- Support identification and collaborate with stakeholders to meet program requirements and goals. Discuss and report risks to delivery for actions and proactively implement solutions.
- Support the development of tools and solutions that enable Arcadis to measure and improve sustainability results. Support the team with the continuous improvement of our methodologies, tools, reports, and systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement innovative technical improvements that meet business requirements.
