Appointment will be made on the basis of a fixed term contract of three (3) years.

The initial term of this contract will be three (3) years. The EIF offers fixed-term contracts of up to a maximum of six (6) years, with a possibility of a conversion to a permanent contract, subject to business needs, organisational requirements and individual performance.

Purpose:

As part of the EIF Corporate Responsibility team dedicated to managing EIF stakeholder relations, its transparency policy and relations with civil society organisations (CSOs),  you will contribute to further widen and deepen the Fund’s engagement in a number of assigned areas, within the strategy of pursuing best practices and continuous improvement in the area of corporate social responsibility/sustainability.  The area of engagement focuses on environmental, social and governance issues at large.  It covers the sustainability dimension of the organization as the key subject matter of engagement.  The EIF’s Transparency commitment is at the heart of the purpose and responsibilities of this position.

Operating Network:

You will report to the Head of the Ethics & Corporate Compliance Unit, who in turn reports to the Head of Division – Corporate Compliance, Internal Control & Ethics Division collaborating closely with Risk Management (RM) and General Secretariat (GS) colleagues, other EIF services, relevant services at the European Investment Bank (EIB) as well as with external counterparts (e.g. business associations, federations, think tanks, academia, NGOs, networks and wider civil society stakeholders).

Responsibilities:

At a level commensurate with relevant experience and seniority, you will be involved in the following tasks:

  • Oversee the correct implementation and reporting of the EIF Transparency Policy;
  • Work on proactive disclosure issues, especially with regard to environmental, social and governance (ESG) – sustainable/climate finance matters, both at the Institutional and transaction level;
  • Coordinate and handle requests for information from Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) and other CSOs as well as from external stakeholders; liaise with the EIB Civil Societies and Corporate Social Responsibility Divisions when required;
  • Contribute to the development and management of a constructive relation with stakeholders, wider civil society on sustainability matters;
  • Interface, when required, with external parties such as Mandators, NGOs, Non-Financial Rating Agencies and stakeholders with an EIB Group perspective;
  • Support and pro-actively bring up CSR topics, develop – jointly with relevant EIF services – policies and procedures consistent with the EIF business model and product mix;
  • Contribute to EIF’s corporate responsibility, in terms of measuring, auditing (i.e. second line controls on EIF CSR Policies) and reporting on corporate responsibility/sustainability;
  • Follow-up and report on latest developments in corporate responsibility and sustainable development regulations and standards, reporting, measurement and disclosure issues.
