Smart Freight Centre (SFC) is a globally active non-profit organization for climate action in the freight sector. We are enablers for those who believe in united action to reduce logistics greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. SFC brings together multinationals, freight forwarders, carriers, NGOs, and governments in our collaborative initiatives, trainings, and programs. Together, we help solve business challenges to reduce freight emissions. Our goal is to guide the industry to track and reduce its GHG emissions by one billion tonnes by 2030 and reach zero emissions by 2050 or earlier.
About the position
SFC is managing a program focused on advancing robust market measures (specifically, a voluntary book and claim chain of custody system) to accelerate the uptake of transportation decarbonization activities. The primary focus of the role is to coordinate work across this new program, including management and facilitation of a variety of stakeholder work groups.
The Program Manager will work closely with the Program Director, CEO, large multinational companies, as well as representatives from the environmental NGO community.
Your tasks will include
- Day-to-day project management of this new program, inclusive of oversight of the overall program work plan.
- Development and implementation of a communication and public engagement plan that conveys a compelling and coherent message about market measures for transport decarbonization to external stakeholders.
- Ensuring alignment across several work streams focused on different aspects of the development and advancement of market measures for transport decarbonization.
- Organizing and leading work group meetings, distilling key takeaways from meetings and conveying that information to meeting participants and others.
- Applying communication and facilitation skills to guide and encourage a range of stakeholders with different interests to achieve consensus and to agree to concrete decisions and actions.
