We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Investment Director to support the Lead Portfolio Manager in a newly established investment mandate focused on climate and energy transition solutions. This role presents a unique opportunity to execute a direct investment strategy that targets scalable, high-impact companies and projects advancing decarbonization, renewable energy, grid solutions, efficient and smart infrastructure, clean technologies, CCUS and circular economy models.
As a senior member of the investment team, the Investment Director will be responsible for sourcing, evaluating, structuring, executing, and managing direct investments. The ideal candidate will bring deep sector expertise, a strong investment track record, and a passion for driving the transition to a net-zero economy.
The Investment Director’s key responsibilities include:
Strategic Leadership
- Identify key thematic areas and emerging technologies with strong impact and return potential.
- Contribute to overall fund strategy, risk management, and portfolio construction.
Deal Origination & Execution
- Lead sourcing of high-quality direct investment opportunities across relevant sectors and geographies.
- Build relationships with entrepreneurs, co-investors, advisors, and strategic stakeholders.
- Oversee due diligence processes, including commercial, financial, technical, ESG, and legal workstreams.
- Structure and negotiate investment terms, lead deal execution, and obtain internal approvals.
Asset Management
- Monitor portfolio performance and support portfolio companies in value creation strategies.
- Provide ongoing governance through board participation and strategic input.
- Assess and execute follow-on investments and exit opportunities.
Team Leadership & Representation
- Manage and mentor junior team members and investment analysts.
- Represent the firm in industry forums, investor meetings, and public engagements.
- Act as an ambassador for the firm’s mission and impact objectives.
