What will you do?
Sustainability is a core part of our strategy as we align with international frameworks like the Paris Agreement. We’re committed to achieving net-zero emissions by 2050 and significantly reducing our environmental footprint by 2035.
As ESG Controller, you will play a key role in advancing our Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) strategy. You’ll ensure the integrity, completeness, and reliability of ESG data while supporting compliance, reporting, and alignment with global standards. Collaborating across finance, sustainability, legal, HR, and operations teams, you will integrate ESG principles into our financial planning and decision-making processes, contributing to long-term value creation for our company and stakeholders.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as a non-finance business partner, embedding ESG principles into Steinweg’s non-financial planning, reporting, risk management, and decision-making processes.
- Develop the ESG data domain within Steinweg and provide guidance to departments impacted by ESG legislation, both within and outside of Finance.
Data Management
- Lead efforts to collect, consolidate, and manage ESG-related data across Steinweg’s global operations, ensuring accuracy within ESG systems.
- Assist in calculating CO2 footprint calculations for customers, suppliers, etc.
- Establish and maintain templates, internal controls and reporting policies to support reliable ESG data collection and reporting.
Reporting & Compliance
- Ensure timely and accurate ESG-related non-financial reporting and disclosures in collaboration with Sustainability Manager and Business, Finance and Sustainability representatives within the Steinweg Group.
- Monitor regulatory developments (e.g., CSRD, ISSB) and ensure compliance with new ESG reporting requirements.
- Design, implement, and oversee a robust internal control framework for ESG data and reporting processes.
- Support internal and external ESG audits, ensuring appropriate controls and assurance processes are in place.
- Together with the Sustainability Manager, train key employees globally on ESG reporting processes, controls, and the value of sustainability reporting.
