Mileway

Are you a driven and ambitious sustainability or real estate student, ready to take the first step in your ESG career? We are looking for a smart and enthusiastic intern to join our Amsterdam team. You’ll be part of a young, dynamic team supporting the roll out of Mileway’s sustainability agenda across the organisation. You’ll work with us as we set clear, measurable targets and implement data systems which allow us to effectively monitor and report performance.

Working with the ESG team, you will make a real impact in setting up baselines and process in our pan-European organisation. You will be challenged to work towards best-in-class ESG reporting standards, overseeing a portfolio of over 1,700 assets. Your first focus will be on Mileway’s first report to the Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark (GRESB). You will also participate in the coordination of Mileway’s social and governance strategy.

High-quality, well located urban spaces can enable cities to be more efficient, reducing the distance that goods, workers and consumers need to travel, and in turn, reducing emissions. These spaces, in turn, contribute to vibrant urban communities, creating a virtuous circle where demand for services and goods creates more businesses and jobs. As Europe’s largest provider of last mile logistics real estate, we have the scale to make this vision the norm. By embedding an ambitious ESG program into our business strategy we can decarbonise and create positive social impacts through the last mile ecosystem. Seizing this opportunity now means we can redefine the asset class as one which has the power to add immense value to our properties, customers, communities, our own proposition, and industry as a whole; ultimately delivering on our purpose to create space for local communities to connect, prosper and grow.

Working at Mileway

We offer an opportunity you simply won’t find anywhere else. In less than three years, Mileway has grown into Europe’s leader in last mile real estate, with a 380-strong team and over twenty offices in ten countries.

Mileway started out to be a different kind of real estate company. As an audacious newcomer, we’re setting things up the way we always wanted them, like our cloud-based IT infrastructure and our team’s ability to flex across borders, combining the best of local knowledge with the pooled expertise of a pan-European business. And in 2020, we picked up an EGI Industrial and Logistics Innovator award.

We may be young, but with a portfolio stretching across Europe, an international, go-getting team, and growth plans that match our ambition, we have some big shoes to fill. To get there, we live our values: Drive, Trust, Grow, Together.

Your home base will be our dynamic office in Amsterdam Zuidas. We’ll equip you with a state-of-the-art technology package that helps you keep in touch, wherever you are. That doesn’t mean we need you 24/7. We expect you’ll work hard and also that you’ll need some downtime. Respect for your personal life is key to keeping our team happy and our batteries charged.

What you’ll do

  • Prepare data set for Mileway’s GRESB reporting submission and for our parent company’s review
  • Work on preparing data for other reporting requirements including the annual report (GRI, CSRD)
  • Assist with research tasks, including interpretation of sustainability topics relevant to the ESG targets;
  • Work with asset managers, property managers, and other corporate teams to organize data collection campaigns
  • Collaborate directly with the IT teams working on our ESG systems to organize data recording
  • Support the ESG team members in their projects related to environmental and social issues

  • Assist with research of Social partnership and volunteering programs
