SUMMARY:'Hope and Sustainability Dialogue: from Research to Reflection'
DESCRIPTION:A unique collaboration between The Auckland University of Techn
ology and the Sustainability University!\nHope is often described as a v
ital force in sustainability work — a driver that energises and motivate
s us toward a better future. At the same time\, for many of us working in
sustainability\, hope is not always easy to hold onto. We’re regularly c
onfronted with scientific facts\, organisational barriers and political re
alities that can challenge our sense of hope.\nThe Auckland University of
Technology and the Sustainability University warmly invite you to an in
teractive (online) dialogue on the role of hope in sustainability work.
We’ll share key insights from 35 in-depth interviews with sustainabili
ty leaders across New Zealand\, exploring how they experience hope - and
how they use it in their work.\nWe’re excited to not only present our f
indings\, but also to hear your reflections: What role does hope play in
your own sustainability journey and work?\nLanguage: English\nAn exclusi
 ve\, free opportunity\nLive\, online\, and interactive.\n\nProgram\n\n
Introduction by Carola Wijdoogen\n Presentation of research by Professor
Marjo Lips-Wiersma and Dr Peter Skilling\n Explorative dialogue\n What'

hes on these topics at universities and colleges both in the Netherlands a
nd internationally. In 2019\, she founded the Sustainability University Fo
undation to empower sustainability professionals as true game changers. Wi
th the same mission in mind\, she authored three books: ‘MVO doe je zo
 ’ (2016)\, ‘7 Roles for Sustainable Success’ (2011) and '7 rollen vo
or duurzaam succes’ (2022).\nPresentation of research by Professor Marj
o Lips-Wiersma and Dr Peter Skilling (Auckland University of Technology\,
New Zealand) Dr. Peter Skilling and Professor Marjolein Lips-Wiersma are
seasoned academics in a Business Faculty that weaves sustainability throu
gh all of its programmes. They annually collaborate with NZ sustainability
officers to measure the state of the nation. They research the Hope and S
ustainability relationship in their own teaching practice (who\, if anyone
\, is responsible for hope in the classroom?) and with their network of Ne
w Zealand Sustainability officers. They publish in top journals and have w
on numerous teaching and academic awards.\n\nRegistration\nPlease send Ine
s Cremers (ines.cremers@numberfive.community) an email to register. Once r
